What Churches Can Do To Promote Life
Reflection on Psalm 139
Rabbi Loren Jacobs' message, based on Psalm 139, makes the case for the sanctity of all human life, including unborn children. We must know that we are never alone. God was with each one of us from our very beginning, at the moment of our creation and before, and He will be with us at our end and beyond! God Himself is very much involved in our life! The Story of Right to Life
The Story of Right to life is a PowerPoint presentation for use in churches and group settings to educate about what it means to be prolife and the work of Right to Life groups.
This is a story about relationships. And, as such, it’s a story about us all. It’s as broad as the human journey, for it is woven into the fabric of our deepest issues. Human rights, preventing violence, child abuse and caring for the terminally ill are all spokes of the same wheel. And at the center of this wheel is the respect for human life.

In the Image of God
In the Image of God stresses that all life comes from our creator. In that way, we are called to protect the least among us, the unborn child. This PowerPoint briefly describes how abortion became legal in the United States, its impact on our nation and the developmental facts and pictures which show us that unborn children are human, too.
The PowerPoint is free
of charge and comes with a presenter's script for a seamless presentation.

Adult Stem Cell
Downloadable Videos
"Adult Stem Cell Research: Making a Difference Today " is a 19-minute video which explains stem cell research using four human interest stories. This video would be a great opener for a Sunday School Class, Bible Study, or meeting on current events. Unfortunately, stem cell research is grossly misrepresented in the media, but this video is an excellent educational piece and will aid people when hearing about stem cell research or talking with others about this important topic.
"The Science of Stem Cells: Finding Cures and Protecting Life" includes testimonials from and interviews with patient advocates, prominent scientists and stem cell researchers urging support for adult stem cell research, a nurse and bioethicist who addresses the effects of egg extraction and human cloning on women, and a priest and bioethicist who addresses embryonic and adult stem cell research from a moral and theological perspective.

Showing the reality and impact of abortion without using graphic pictures is challenging. However, one powerful way to "see" how abortion has damaged our country is to juxtapose the war on the unborn to the number of American's who lost their lives in battle. This handout is especially helpful around Memorial Day.

Right to Life of Michigan recently launched a campaign to educate the public about fetal development. For 40 weeks, let's celebrate the development of human life. Make a pledge to be a voice for the voiceless and share one fact each week about life in the womb. Share this information with your family and friends using email and social networks. Forced abortion opponent escapes house arrest in China
Chen Guangcheng, a blind, self-taught lawyer and outspoken opponent of forced abortion made international headlines when he made a daring escape from his village where he was under house arrest and fled to the U.S. embassy in China. Chen has been beaten, imprison and had his family threatened because he exposed the heinous practice of local government officials enforcing China's one-child policy through forced abortions.
Hispanic women have disproportionate number of abortions
Today, more than 825 Hispanic women will make the choice to abort their unborn child. Sadly, Hispanic women are having a disproportionate number of abortions. Hispanic and African-American women together total more than half of all the abortions in the United States. More than 302,500 unborn Hispanic babies die each year as a result of legalized abortion. Leading proponent of killing human embryos for research admits iPS cells are "holy grail" of research
The University of Michigan is a strong proponent of human embryonic stem cell research. While ethical alternatives to killing human embryos have existed for years, the University of Michigan has continued to push human embryonic stem cell research and downplay the ethical alternatives. One of those ethical alternatives is induced pluripotent stem (iPS) cells, which behave like embryonic stem cells but do not require the destruction of human embryos. While often downplaying the potential of iPS cells, a recent U of M press release quotes one U of M scientist who proclaims iPS cells "the holy grail of personalized medicine."
