2011 Oratory Contest Winners

16 local contest winners competed at the 22nd Annual High School Oratory Contest in Lansing, MI on May 14, 2011.

First Place:

First place went to Mallory Tanis of Sanilac County Right to Life. Mallory is a home-schooled senior. Her speech was on the impact of advances like ultrasound on the issue of abortion.


 

Second Place:

Second place went to Christina Laidler of Shiawassee County Right to Life. Christina is a sophomore at Perry High School. Her speech was on basic facts of abortion and her personal story of being a "high-risk" pregnancy that doctors recommended for abortion to her mother.


 

Third Place:

Third place went to Jacob Iverson of Lenawee County Right to Life. Jacob is a home-schooled junior. His speech was on the issue of men and abortion and the lack of fathers' rights in abortion decisions.
